Rewilding Yourself by Daniel Vitalis

How to recreate a natural habitat for ourselves that makes us healthy?

As humans, we have 6 million-year-old hardware and 10 thousand-year-old software. But what if the lifestyle that we are having now actually doesn’t serve our hardware any good? Daniel Vitalis teaches us how to “rewild yourself” to stay healthy. Here is a presentation summary that Daniel had given to the Society members (Neil Stauss’s Mastermind Group).

Humans Are Degrading Via “Domestication”

Humans were hunter-gatherers, until around 200 thousand years ago, we start living indoors in a stable environment. We no longer need to move from one place to another, or find and eat wild food. “Domestication” simply means we start living indoor and having lifestyles that are degrading ourselves. We breathe stale air, drink tap water, and eat preserved and processed food full of chemicals. Civilization might have brought us many benefits; it also came at a cost.

A good analogy is dogs. Dogs were actually wolves, but a degraded version of it. We start putting chains around dogs’ necks, we castrate them when we don’t want them to reproduce. They lose the ability to hunt in the wild.

A sign of human degradation is having crooked teeth. Cavemen actually have perfect teeth and higher bone density, compared to modern age people.

Develop a Feral Mindset

If someone gave you a chimpanzee and asked you to keep it healthy for a month, are you going to put it in a hotel with all those walls, feed processed food or stress it out with work? Probably not. We instinctively know that they will destroy its health. So why do we set up these broken environments for ourselves?

Cities are like factories for humans. Civilization creates pyramid schemes to maximize our output for production. But they don’t maximize our health.

While we can’t go back to being hunter-gatherers, just like dogs can no longer live in the woods, it is still possible to “rewilding” ourselves by setting up the right habitat that supports our biology.

Set Up Your Own Natural Habitat with The 4 Key Elements- Food, Water, Air, Sunlight

Our body is actually a big “aquarium”, the yeast, bacteria, and microorganisms in our body are 10 times more than our humans’ cells. An aquarium is basically an ecosystem, you need to provide food, light, water, and air into it. And so does our body. We can recreate our natural habitat in our environment by having the right food, water, air, and sunlight. They strengthen your immune system, increase your mental clarity, and add many more years to your life.

Food

Eat whole foods, organic foods, or even better with local food supply.

Food genetics affect our genetics. Most seafood is still wild, so we should eat more. Eat less processed food, as it has lower nutrients and higher calories.

Water

The best container for water is glass. Plastic is photodegradable, meaning it will dissolve under sunlight into water.

Water should be kept out of the sun, and at 4 degrees celsius, where water is denser and more hydrating.

The purest water can be found in natural spring or drilled-well. Surface water is all polluted. You can find springs on findaspring.com

Natural water doesn’t only contain H2O, it also has dissolved carbonic acid, minerals, and electrons. Distilled water brings all the minerals away, which is not actually good for us.

If you cannot get pure spring water, Daniel suggests we drink Reverse Osmosis water with pure salt (full of pure minerals) added to it. And use a TDS meter to ensure it is 100–200 ppm (particles per million).

Air

The air in our house is way more polluted than outside, with all the dust and gases. There are 4 things that we can do to improve our air at home.

  1. Have more plants
  2. Have a High-Efficiency Particle Air Filter — helps remove all dust and pollutants
  3. Have a Negative Ion Generator — helps add negative electrons
  4. Have a Humidity Control Machine

Sunlight

Our eyes need to intake sunlight to activate the neural transmitters. And our skin needs sunlight to generate vitamin D. A tip is not to use soap to bathe after sunbathing, because it takes away the oil and vitamin D.

Daniel recommends we get outside, watch sunrise and sunset because it helps us synchronize with natural time.

Summary

The more time that we spend in nature, the healthier we get. Bewilder, and you will have better health. Pick one of the tools, skills, or biohacks presented and begin integrating it into your life over the following weeks.
